Apple Wants You To Pay More For iPhone 16 Battery Replacement: Here’s How Much It Will Cost – Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL)

Apple’s Latest Move: iPhone 16 Battery Replacement Price Hike

The Unveiling of Apple’s Price Adjustments

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has made a notable shift in its battery replacement pricing for the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max models. The tech giant has escalated the cost of battery repairs for these particular models by $20, setting the new price at $119. However, there have been no alterations in the replacement cost for batteries in the standard and “Plus” models.

Previous Trends and Recent Developments

In a move that might not come as a shock to many, Apple has previously raised the iPhone 14 battery service cost by $30 to $99 back in 2022. While the company has not yet hiked the prices for other battery replacements, such a decision might be on the horizon. It is crucial to note that defective batteries remain covered under Apple’s one-year warranty, with replacements being cost-free under AppleCare+ plans if the battery’s capacity drops below 80% of its original state.

Insights into the Impact

Last year witnessed Apple increasing the battery replacement prices for out-of-warranty devices, which comprised iPhones, iPads, and Macs. Subsequently, in September, there was a surge in the battery replacement cost for specific Apple Watch models. Apple has taken concrete steps such as ceasing to cover hairline cracks on iPhone and Apple Watch displays under its standard warranty, transferring the repair charges to the customers. Notably, the iPhone 16 Pro is priced starting at $999 for the 128GB model, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max commences at $1,199 for the 256GB variant. Pre-orders for all four models have commenced, with official sales scheduled to kick off on Sept. 20.
